Portmore are the 2017/2018 Red Stripe Premier League champions.
They defeated Waterhouse 4-3 on penalties in the final at the National Stadium on Monday night to secure their sixth title and their first since 2012. In a generally lacklustre final, both teams had their share of chances but failed to break the deadlock during 90 minutes of regular time and a further 30 minutes of extra-time.
Both teams failed to put much in attack in the first half although Portmore had Waterhouse making a goal-line clearance close to the end of the half.
The second half was livelier with Waterhouse creating three clear chances in the early stages but were denied by faulty shooting and a dramatic goal-line clearance.
The rest of the half was a fairly even affair with both teams battling to gain an advantage, both trying to win the midfield.
Waterhouse controlled the action for most of the extra-time but again failed to create any clear chance in front of goal.
Going into penalties, Ewan Grandison, Roberto Johnson, Damano Solomon and Jermie Lynch all scored from the spot while Cordel Benbow, Allan Ottey and Tramaine Stewart scored for Waterhouse.
Kemar Beckford and Denardo Thomas had their penalties saved.
