As at today Friday, October 26, the Princess Street/Slipe Pen Road intersection in Downtown Kingston has been closed to vehicular traffic in the vicinity of the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH).
The closure was expected around 9 o’clock this morning and will last for seven (7) days.
The closure is to facilitate critical drainage improvement works in the vicinity of the hospital. The NWA says a storm water drain will be repaired and a defective lateral drain grating will be removed and replaced.
The NWA’s Stephen Shaw says the works are being carried out to prevent the grating from falling into further disrepair and is being treated as a matter of urgency in the interest of public safety.
Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes, during the closure.
