News has reached our news desk confirming that an official application has been filed on behalf of incarcerated dancehall artiste Adidja “Vybz Kartel” Palmer and his three co-convicts and if granted leave will get the opportunity to challenge the matter in the Privy Council.

Come Monday, June 29 the matter will be aired in the local arm of the court of appeal, where the legal teams will seek permission from the Court of Appeal to take the case overseas to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London, and which is the final appellate court for Jamaica.

All three defendants have changed representation for their Privy Council hearing, reggae artiste turned attorney-at-law Isat Buchanan will now represent the Worl Boss, Vybz Kartel.

While Andre St John and Kahira Jones’s legal counsel is John Clarke and seasoned attorney Bert Samuels will now represent Shawn Campbell otherwise called Shawn Storm.

Jamaica Today will have more details come Monday afternoon, after the local hearings.
