Dr. Peter Phillips is calling for a new board to be assigned to the Caribbean Maritime University. His appeal was made yesterday, October 7, at a press conference held at the People’s National Party Headquarters, where he shared concerns relating to the Scandal involving the Caribbean Maritime University, the Education Ministry and its former Minister Ruel Reid.
Dr. Phillips says the opposition is “calling on the board of CMU to be relieved of its responsibilities, immediately.”
He also noted that he wants the Ministry of Education to withdraw what he calls “inappropriate contracts”.
The opposition leader also wants the university’s President, Professor Fritz Pinnock to be placed on leave until the investigations are complete.
