Business operators in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth are calling for more police personnel to be deployed to the town following a spate of robberies.
The latest incident took place on Friday when four gunmen entered a supermarket on Main Street. They made off with a large quantity of cash and several boxes of cigarettes.
Residents are calling for more resources to be deployed to the police station as there is a shortage of vehicles which is hampering the work of the police.
St. Elizabeth has been experiencing a crime wave over recent months with a large number of armed robberies being carried out against business operators in several towns.
