Santa Cruz Residents Call Increased Police Presence To Stem Ongoing Crime Wave

Business operators in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth are calling for more police personnel to be deployed to the town following a spate of robberies.

The latest incident took place on Friday when four gunmen entered a supermarket on Main Street. They made off with a large quantity of cash and several boxes of cigarettes.

Residents are calling for more resources to be deployed to the police station as there is a shortage of vehicles which is hampering the work of the police.

St. Elizabeth has been experiencing a crime wave over recent months with a large number of armed robberies being carried out against business operators in several towns.
