Michael Swaby, the 40-year-old suspected serial rapist, who was arrested in Waterford, Portmore, St Catherine last month, has been charged with several offences even while investigations are still ongoing. The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) through its Facebook account, published on Thursday that Swaby is “facing three counts each on the charges of abduction, rape, grievous sexual assault, assault occasioning bodily harm, assault at common-law, illegal possession of a firearm and robbery with aggravation.”
The JCF did not state when the accused is to be brought before the courts to answer the charges. Swaby, who is from Kensington Road, Kingston 2, was arrested in April.
Investigators from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) are claiming that he posed as an illegal taxi operator in order to target his female victims.
Meanwhile, the serial rapist’s legal troubles could be far from over as Jamaica Today has gathered from police sources that he is to face additional identification parades.
Swaby remains in the police custody at this time.
