Some workers employed to the National Water Commission (NWC) have gone on strike.
The strike was called by workers represented by the National Workers Union (NWU) this morning after wage talks collapsed. Secretary General of the union, Granville Valentine says he wants the Ministry of Finance to intervene.
The strike could affect repair works at several NWC work sites including especially in the Corporate Area. Only this morning the NWC had to extend a pipe reconnection programme on Half Way Tree Road and surrounding communities of St Andrew because, it said, of works being carried out on the roadways.
