St Bess and Dunbeholden will contest the final of the Charley’s JB Rum South Central Confederation Super League after they defeated Vere and Black Stars respectively in the second-leg semi-finals at St Elizabeth Technical on Sunday.
In a goal feast, St Bess defeated Black Stars 6-3 to advance 7-4 on aggregate, after the first-leg ended 1-1, while Dunbeholden clubbed Black Stars 5-0 for a 6-1 aggregate. St Bess and Dunbeholden will meet on May 6 to decide the winner of the competition.
Nacquain Brown and Kevon Woodley each scored a brace in St Bess’ win, with Brown netting in the 26th and 48th minutes and Woodley scoring in the 61st and one minute into added time as Nickjay White (48th) and Christopher Dixon (80th) got the others.
Andrew Isaacs fifth minute strike had given Vere the lead which was doubled in the 21st minute by Shantel Mundle before Brown pulled one back for St Bess. Vere would again go two goals ahead through Mundle in the 37th minute before St Bess second-half onslaught carried them to the win.
In the other match, Dunbeholden assumed a first-half lead in the 25th minute through Richardo Harriot and then piled on the pressure in the second half through goals by Lorenzo Dubidad (49th), Richard Orett (59th), Jerome Wedderborne (72nd) and Craig Gayle (80th).
