St Kitts General Elections Weeks Away

Prime Minister of St Kitts-Nevis, Dr. Timothy Harris, today May 18, announced the date of the next general elections on the twin-island Caribbean nation.

The date is set for Friday, June 5, and Nomination Day will be on May 27.

In a radio and television broadcast to the nation, PM Harris said: “Elections is important and will bring certainty to our federation, enhance confidence in our country and preserve our democracy.”

The Prime Minister is expected to lead his coalition Team Unity to victory, as they face a challenge from the main opposition the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party which is headed by former Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas.
