Confident that St Lucia has finally curbed the spread of the coronavirus after recording 100% recovery, the government says it will reopen its borders on June 4. The announcement was made last Saturday May 16.
“As of June 4th 2020, we will begin to gradually open our borders to regional and international travel,” Prime Minister Allen Chastenat told the nation.
This comes after weeks of a lockdown that has seen 24-hr curfews.
Chastenat’s five-phase strategic reopening of the country will focus on health, safety and the general well-being of the public, and has taken into account the advice of public health experts and feedback from stakeholders.
