Suspect In Quadruple Murder Shot Dead


A man police say was a suspect in the quadruple murder which occurred in Westmoreland last Thursday, November 8, was shot dead by police on Monday, November 12.

Dead is thirty-eight-year-old Leon Smith otherwise called ‘Rasta’, of Geneva district in the parish.

Police said Smith was shot and killed during a confrontation with the Police in his community on Monday. One Luger 9mm pistol with a magazine containing two 9mm rounds of ammunition was seized.

Four people from one community near Little London were shot dead when gunmen kicked down doors to neighboring houses and sprayed the occupants with bullets. Police say the incident was gang related

The fatal shooting of Smith has been reported to the Inspectorate of Constabulary (IOC), and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
