Arson is suspected in the burning down of a house on Top Road in St Ann’s Bay, St Ann close to where 14-year-old Raven Wilson’s body was found on Sunday, October 21.
The house is believed to have been the home of one of the two 15-year-old boys charged for the murder of the Ocho Rios High School student. Raven Wilson was reported missing Friday October 19, two days before her body was found stuffed in a plastic bag in bushes a short distance from her home.
Days after the discovery of the body, members of the community had surrounded a house where they had claimed a suspect in the killing of the girl lived. They threatened violence.
Police had made several appeals to people not to take matters into their own hands. Police pointed out that their investigations were going well.
The occupants of the house had later moved out, fearing for their safety. However, sometime on Sunday the house was burnt down.
Raven was buried on Saturday, December 1, following a thanksgiving service attended by hundreds at the Ocho Rios Baptist church, St Ann.
