Dozens of taxi operators plying routes from St Ann’s Bay, St Ann have withdrawn their services following reports of a brawl this morning.

Operations at the centre that serves taxis and buses plying routes to all parts of St Ann came to a standstill, after taxi operators withdrew their services and parked their vehicles.

Hundreds of people were left stranded.

Details are sketchy about what happened but reports to Jamaica Today are that a taxi operator and a security guard at the transport centre were involved in an altercation that became physical. The taxi operator was reportedly told of new arrangements for entering the bus park and was denied entry. That reportedly triggered the dispute.

Police and Transport Authority personnel are now at the scene.
