The Clarendon police are maintaining their presence across sections of the parish following two brazen gun attacks that left a truck driver and a student dead on Monday, May 14.
Thirty-three-year-old Garrett Smith of Cornpiece Settlement in Hayes; and 19-year-old Alvin Latty of Bygrave district in Milk River have been identified as the victims.
Police reports are that at about 2:30 p.m., Smith was driving a motorcycle along the road when he was pounced upon by men driving in a white Toyota Premio motorcar. They opened gunfire hitting him multiple times to the upper body. Smith was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Meanwhile, at about 9:30 p.m., Latty was walking home when he was attacked by gunmen. They opened fire hitting him several times in the upper body. Latty was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Up to Wednesday morning, investigators were continuing their probe into the killings to locate the hoodlums involved.
