Road fatalities across Jamaica have climbed to 119 since the start of the year with the latest victims being killed in two separate crashes in Hanover and St Ann on Sunday, May 13.
Thirty-seven-year-old Lennox McNeish of Trysee in Brown’s Town, St Ann; and 20-year-old Orlando McKenzie of Green Island, Hanover were the victims identified.
Police reported that at about 12:30 p.m., McNeish was driving his Toyota Corolla motorcar along the Sturge Town main road when he lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a wall and overturned.
McNeish was pronounced dead at the St Ann’s Bay Hospital.
Meanwhile, in Hanover, the police said McKenzie was driving a motorcycle along the Green Island main road, when he lost control and crashed head on into a pick-up truck.
McKenzie sustained head injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The police are investigating both incidents.
