Two Murders Less Than Last Year



The Police has released its crime data, and since January, Jamaica has recorded 976 murders – two less than the same period last year when 978 were recorded.

116 murders were committed in St. Andrew South, 108 in St James, 102 in Clarendon and 100 in St Catherine South.

To date, 505 illegal guns and 12,000 rounds of ammunition have been seized since the January to September period.

There has also been a reduction in shooting, rape, aggravated assault, robbery, break-ins, and larceny.
