A popular Westmoreland businessman was gunned down in the resort town of Negril in the parish on Saturday.
He has been identified as 37-year-old Kevin Bird of Good Hope, Negril.
According to reports, Bird was among a group of men playing dominoes around 4:30 in the afternoon when they were approached by two men who had driven up on a motorcycle.
One of the men alighted from the motorcycle and opened fire on Bird, hitting him multiple times. He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The police are yet to establish a motive for the killing.
Bird has become the second murder victim in Westmoreland since the start of the year. Last year the parish, that has seen a rise in murders over the past three years, recorded 142 homicides.
That followed on the 148 murders that were recorded in the western parish in 2017
