A woman and her cousin are to face the court tomorrow, Friday, September 21, after they were held at the airport allegedly trying to take out $16,000 worth of ganja.
They have been identified as 23-year-old Shaneika Bailey and 20-year-old Miguel Beech, both of Eltham Park, St. Catherine.
The two were arrested by Narcotics Police at the Norman Manley International Airport on Sunday, September 16 and were jointly charged on Tuesday, September 18, with possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and taking steps preparatory to export ganja. They are to appear in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court on Friday.
According to reports from Narcotics detectives, about 3:00 p.m. Bailey and Beech checked in to board a flight destined to the Eastern Caribbean when their luggage was searched and four pounds of compressed ganja were found.
The estimated street value of the drugs is J$16,000.00.
